“Even though I installed AutoCAD 2015, when I double click on a drawing it always opens in AutoCAD 2014 … How do I fix this?”
The problem is that for one reason or another the AutoCAD DWG Launcher is set up to work in this case with AutoCAD 2014.
Here is what you need to do the make it work:
First please check that the DWG files are associated with the AutoCAD DWG Launcher.
Select a drawing -> Right click -> Go to Properties
Go to the Registry Editor (Start -> RUN -> regedit)
Look for the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\DwgCommon\shellex\apps\{F29F85E0-4FF9-1068-AB91-08002B27B3D9}:AutoCAD
Select the OpenLaunch key (right click -> Modify…) and change the software version to the correct one as this image shows...
You only need to change that key, but I modified the PrintLaunch key as well to keep consistency…
After doing this just double click on any of your DWG files to confirm that it works as you expected and you are good to go…
